Thursday Shout-out – 10 – Once Upon a Time: A Collection of Unexpected Fairytales

In the run-up to UK National Flash Fiction Day in May this year, writers Susi Holliday and Anna Meade set up a competition to write an unexpected fairytale in 350 words or fewer.  The stories were all posted on or linked to Anna’s blog, Yearning for Wonderland and entrants wrote generous comments on one another’s work.

Although everyone knew there would be prizes, what no-one knew until Susi wrote round checking author details, was that there was to be an anthology published of all 88 stories! This is now available here for UK readers and here for those in the USA.

All royalties go to the National Literacy Trust . A good read in a good cause.
